Blind Draw Rules:
1) All players submit a list of 150 numbers to be matched one at a time against a randomized list of
players with a salary of $1.4 million or more . A deadline for the numbers will be set. If an owner does not submit by the deadline, then their numbers will be selected for them by using
randomizer.org.
2) The draft will be conducted in straight line draft fashion on the commish’s spreadsheet, and draft order will be randomly assigned.
3) After receiving most of the owner's random numbers, the commissioner will ask
another owner in the league to do the randomization of all available players (after the comissioner has selected his numbers and emails them to this owner). By doing this, the comissioner
will be blinded to the randomization process.
4) The salary cap is $125 million (except during selected seasons). During the draft, any player drawn who would drop an owner's average available salary below $3.60 million, cannot be selected. That player is RESTRICTED from league play. The restricted list will be maintained on the message board.
5) A team will receive no more than 12 pitchers (based on primary position) or 19 position players. If a player is selected that will exceed
these limits, then the player will not be selected and NOT be placed on the Restricted list.. All teams will have at least 4 SP's (can't run a team on IS without 4 SP) and 9 total pitchers.
6) The commissioner will post all draft selections, as well as a list of restricted players. The draft will be posted at: http://blinddraw.jimdo.com/ . I will try to use this website for the draft only.
7) All owners must keep the most expensive player dealt to them during the initial draft. This player can be dropped after the first game has played. This player can be traded in for you first LIR, if the first LIR is more expensive. (For example, if the most expensive player in the draft is player 'A' whose salary is $10 million and the LIR player 'B" is $12 million, you can drop player 'A' in the preseason if you select your LIR player 'B'). No trades of this player in the preseason. This forces each owner to build their team around a random superstar.
8) All players over $3.60 million that are selected by ANY owner in the Preseason will become Quarantined (for the entire league) over the next four seasons. The commissioner will add these players to the Quarantine list. So, after a few seasons, the list of good-value players will decrease, forcing everyone to use different players.
9) After the draft is posted on the website (I will email everyone when it is ready), each owner then submits their original 28-man roster (at imagine sports) as selected by the
commissioner.
10) Each owner will be allowed to make 11 total player transactions. 5 (6) of these may be used before the season begins. The other 6 (5)are used anytime during the season. Odd numbered seasons will shift the one in-season transaction to the preseason. Use these carefully – review the restricted list prior to each transaction.
There is not an “undo transactions” function at IS. Once the transaction is submitted, it is final (unless a restricted player is accidentally taken –
see #14 below). There is no minimum salary requirement for this league – you can put $500K players on the team.
- Each week, every owner’s remaining moves will be posted on the message board.
- If an owner forgets to use his preseason transactions, he can still use these during the first week of the season. The punishment will be that he must now pay the 80% penalty for the traded-in players, which would not have to be paid in the preseason. If the owner doesn't use these before the end of the first week, then they forfeit their preseason transactions.
11) Let It Ride - Each owner must participate in the Let it Ride (LIR) portion of the proceedings.
12) Like the card game, LIR allows each owner to possibly add restricted players, with the option of adding 1, 2, 3, or 4 of them to their roster without using one of the 11 total player
transactions.
- The commish will draw each owner’s LIR player from the restricted list.
- LIR drawings are conducted once before the season begins, and again at the conclusion of weeks 2, 4 and 6.
- If the owner wants the LIR player, then they can take him without using one of their valuable transactions.
- If the owner does not want the LIR player, then nothing happens (except LIR #4 – see rule #13 below).
13) You must take at least one LIR. An owner MUST ADD THE FOURTH ROUND LIR SELECTION (selected at week 6) to their roster if they did not take any of their first three LIRs . A penalty
of one of the 11 player transactions can be paid to avoid taking this player.
- If you take the preseason LIR, then the player must be on the roster for game
1 of the season to count toward your LIR. If you take the preseason LIR, but drop him before the season, then that LIR does not count toward your LIR requirement.
- You cannot use all of your transactions prior to week 6 unless you already took one of the first 3 LIRs (you wouldn’t do this anyway since you are still getting upgrade money and it would be
wasted if no transactions are left). You need a remaining move in case you do not want your LIR. If you get Babe Ruth as your 4th LIR, and you only have $3 million in the bank, then you obviously
cannot take him & you must forfeit your final transaction.
- The first 3 LIRs are free – take them only if they will help your team.
- For example, before the season starts, an owner can use their 5 preseason transactions and possibly 1 LIR transaction (5 or 6 total preseason transactions).
14) All LIR players that are taken, must be added to an owner's roster by 11:59PM the following Friday. This means that the following weekly bonus money cannot be used. If you don’t add your LIR
selection by Friday night, then it is void.
15) If a restricted player is accidentally taken, the owner has the right to roll back the transaction by re-acquiring the player who was dropped for
the restricted player. The Transaction counter (aka Score Board) is also rolled back. The owner has the option of choosing which player to re-acquire
if there were multiple transactions at the time the restricted player was obtained. You will lose the trade-in money by doing this, so be
careful.
16) If an owner cannot afford to rollback an illegal transaction, then the cost of doing so will be calculated, and a maximum amount for replacement will be determined by the commissioner.
17) If a player is taken as an LIR selection, and then he is dropped later in the season --- then the player will return to the restricted list and cannot be selected by another
team.
18) Salary cap $125 million - however, this can change.
- Upgrade money - $1 million weeks 1 ,3, and 5, $5 million weeks 2, 4 , & 6, and $3 million week 7

19) TRADES - There is now NO LIMIT on the number of trades that a team can make. Trade deficit limit is 90%. You can trade your LIR player. If anyone ever drops a LIR player, the player is returned to the restricted list and cannot be picked up by another team.
20) Each owner can pick their own park prior to the beginning of the season.
Duplicates are allowed.
21) Elastic clause boilerplate. Commish will decide on unforeseen questions.
